Call to quiet Cats
You don't have to sing, play an instrument, or act to be a rock star! In a safe and fun environment, kids can be rock star presenters!
Practice presenting
Getting in front of others can be frightening, a little intimidating - but all it takes is practice...in front of real people.
Be heard like a Lion
This is an experiential learning activity where kids will collaborate on projects and present in a team environment as a small group. Like anything else,  practice over time builds confidence!

Questions and Answers

What is this? A play group? A workshop? A meetup?
It's a combination of all three! It is a small group with like-minded parents who want their child to conquer fear of public speaking. We meet on a regular basis to give each child an opportunity to present in front of real people - that is the way to squash the fear of public speaking.
Who is running this group?
Hello!  I am Ms. Sun a working mom who sees the importance of being able to work with a team and communicate with others. I couldn't find something like this locally for my own kids so after doing research and planning, I decided that there might be a need for this type of activity for kids today. View this group as a supplemental activity to the current education curriculum. Giving the time for each child to speak out loud will help them over time to feel comfortable to express their thoughts, opinions and ask questions in a large group.
How are the kids going to learn?
The kids will learn by actually speaking in front of people - experiential learning! We will learn a new topic each meeting and follow a schedule with an objective of each child speaking out loud and being heard. In the one hour time, we will follow a planned activity that includes reading out loud, voice exercises and practicing presenting. Over time, the gradual build up will be with an end goal of being able to speak into a mic on a 'stage'.
Why do you need my email address?
Your email address is purely used to communicate the time/date of the next meeting. It's an easier form of communication of latest updates and upcoming meetings.
Is there a cost?
We are asking for a $5 donation per meeting. This minimal cost will cover the costs of supplies like poster boards, presentation materials, and even food!
Who can attend?
"Cat to Lion" is a group geared for kids aged 7-8 years old, limited to 6 kids per group.
Where are we meeting?
Sign up for our next meeting and we will send you the exact location via email. We meet in the South Bay.
Is there drop off?
We do require that the parent/caretaker to be in attendance with their child.
Why is it called "Cat to Lion"?
It's fun to be cats!
